PursePals are generally available in two sizes, "day" and "evening" bag. Both sizes are capable of holding 15 lbs or more so the best way to approach is this: what size handbags do you, or the person you
intend to give it to, normally carry?
If you traditionally carry larger bags, or bags with double handles, then the "Day Bag" is definitely for you! The medallion is 1⅝" in diameter, approximately the size of a silver dollar. The PursePal lies flat when not in use and the Day Bag is 4" end to end when lying flat. It weighs around 2 ounces, isn't bulky, and won't take up a lot of room in your purse. It has a little longer J hook on the bottom and the overall length of the hook is longer. This is great for double handled bags or the many fabulous larger bags that are so popular now. That is also positive if you encounter a restaurant table where the "leaf" is folded up and the edge is very thick. It just makes for an all around great choice! Plus the pouch is velveteen and easy to
find in a larger bag.
If you prefer using smaller bags or evening bags, the smaller "evening bag" size is ideal. It has a medallion that is 1⅜" across, approximately the size of a 50 cent piece (if you remember those!), and when lying flat is 3" inches from end to end. It weighs less than an ounce and a half in our classic designs, with the jeweled flowers weighing in at under 2 ounces as well, so it will NOT make your bag feel heavy! That is the beauty of a PursePal, it doesn't have to be heavy to work effectively! I love the evening bag size when I carry smaller purses and certainly for evening bags.
Honestly, I love having both sizes to choose from and I use both sizes all the time! I used the smaller one for everything for 3 years or so, but now I am addicted to the larger size too! For me it varies, depending on which handbag I carry. If you normally carry only bigger bags, go for the larger one.
